The San Mateo County Health Department has issued a new Safer Community Order (“Order”) to align the County with Governor Gavin Newsom’s Resilience Roadmap. This new Order, effective June 18, 2020, supersedes and replaces the County’s prior Shelter in Place Order that took effect in March.
Moving forward, all businesses that have been approved by California for re-opening such as dine-in restaurants, bars, gyms, hair salons, schools, museums, and outdoor recreation, are permitted to open subject to state and local county requirements. The Health Officer of San Mateo County is still monitoring the key indicators of Covid-19, and this Order could change or be modified depending on the number of cases reported in the County.
