About Derek
Derek is a Bay Area native who represents business owners in transactional corporate matters, civil litigation cases, business disputes and insurance claims. Derek counsels clients on a variety of strategic business matters, including corporate formation, acquisitions and legal compliance. Derek has represented a wide array of clients, including tech start-ups, construction companies, real estate agencies, and logistic companies.
One of Derek’s specialty practice areas is transportation law. He represents motor carriers, brokers, bus companies, warehouses, and logistics entities in business transactions, litigation, and regulatory DOT/FMCSA proceedings.
Derek currently serves on the California Trucking Association’s (CTA) Board of Directors. He is also a director of CTA’s Bay Area Unit Steering & Planning Committee and an active member of the Harbor Trucking Association.
Derek enjoys exercising, spending time with his family and friends and exploring the Bay Area. He has been recognized as one of the first members and donors of the SFJAZZ Center, which hosts world-class musicians and youth music programs.
